Little Hands, Big Hosannas
Our four‑week Lent series began upstairs in the Sunday School classroom with the story of Jesus entering Jerusalem on Palm Sunday. We talked about what it meant for the crowds to welcome him with celebration and joy, waving branches as he rode into the city. To help the children feel the story in their hands, we traced their palms onto green paper, cut them out, and glued them to popsicle sticks—creating their own “palm” branches. It was a fun, tactile reminder of the welcome Jesus received and a meaningful way to begin our Lenten journey together. |

A Celebration of Connection and Care
The Women in Faith gathered on Sunday, February 15, in the Fireplace Room for their annual tea—a simple, joy‑filled afternoon of connection and care. Twenty‑nine women attended, with thirteen wearing hats. Our guest speaker, Tanya Monette from Fort Belvoir’s Fisher House, shared about their ministry of hospitality for military families in town for a doctor's appointment or long-term medical treatment. The program also included a musical moment with Beth Evans at the piano and Bev Sapp singing “Precious Lord, Take My Hand.” Tables were set with beautiful teacups and pots from members’ collections, decorated for Valentine’s Day, and surrounded by sweet and savory treats. Together, attendees signed 15 Valentine's for friends near and far and celebrated 18 annual pledges, including some new young adult members. A special delight was welcoming Shari, who drove up for hugs, and brought a friend. The afternoon reflected what Women in Faith continues to nurture: keeping prayer in focus, serving our community, and building a circle of support among one another. |

Save the DateJuly 13–17 • 9:30 AM–12:30 PM Our beloved Summer Music Camp returns this July, offering a free week of music, faith, and fun for rising 2nd–6th graders. This annual camp is one of Washington Farm’s gifts of love to our community—welcoming children from our church, neighborhood, and beyond. Students enjoy hands‑on instruction in guitar, piano, handbells, and drums, along with daily Bible lessons, recreation, snacks, and joyful morning assemblies. No musical background is needed, and classes are led by licensed, experienced music teachers. As we prepare for another wonderful year, we invite you to:
More details are on the way, but for now, mark your calendars and help us share God’s love through the gift of music. |

How’s 40 Notes in 40 Days treating you so far?
Has it brought someone to mind you haven’t thought of in a while, or nudged you to finally reach out to that person who’s been sitting quietly at the back of your thoughts? Even if you haven’t written a note yet, that little spark of remembering counts. Pick one name that’s floated through your mind this week and give it a try. Connection doesn’t have to be perfect to be holy. You’ll find the full Lenten calendar and our 40 Notes in 40 Days practice at the link below.

Bringing Friendship, Faith, and Fun to Assisted Living
Two Sundays Each Month • 1:30–2:30 PM • Spring Hills Assisted Living Each gathering includes scripture, a brief devotional, prayer, and hymn singing, followed by an engaging activity such as a craft or faith‑building experience. Recent visits have featured handbell exploration and a lively round of Bible Bingo—complete with prizes for all. A grant from the Virginia Conference of the UMC helps provide materials like large‑print Bibles, craft supplies, and music resources. Volunteers are needed on a rotating basis to help lead and support these gatherings. If you have a heart for sharing God’s love with seniors in assisted living, we would love to have you join us. Please contact Eileen Fraedrich for more information. |

Helping Hearts
Helping Hearts is a quiet but powerful ministry of care at Washington Farm. Volunteers prepare finger foods for funeral receptions and provide meals for parishioners recovering at home after a hospital stay. Each dish offered is a simple way to comfort the bereaved and support those on the mend. If you or a friend has a need, or if you’re able to provide a meal, the next time one of our Washington Farm family could use a little extra care, please reach out to Claire Sterling. |

Worship This WeekSunday, March 1, 2026 We continue our sermon series on beloved United Methodist hymns with “It Is Well with My Soul” (UMH 377). Paired with Psalm 23, we’ll reflect on the deep peace God offers—even in seasons of uncertainty. Together, these words and melodies remind us that the Good Shepherd walks with us, restores us, and steadies our hearts until we can say, in faith, that all is well.
