Explore eight stations depicting Jesus’ final moments, each with scripture, a devotion, and a hands‑on way to enter the story.

A Tenebrae service is a quiet, candlelit service where the light fades as we hear the story of Jesus’ final hours.

Sunday School Spotlight

Sunday School Spotlight

Last Sunday our preschoolers brought the Palm Sunday story to life by crafting their own “palm” branches, visiting the Easter cross, and enjoying an early Easter basket from Ms. Pam.

Serving the Hypothermia Shelter Together

Serving the Hypothermia Shelter Together

On March 22, Mary R., Donna J., and Doris A. cooked a hearty meal, and our youth and young adults packed breakfast bags for guests at the Rising Hope Hypothermia Shelter. They provided two nourishing meals, and that evening, our young adults and Outreach Committee members delivered and served dinner together.

Pizza with Jon

Pizza with Jon

The Sunday Night Live crew had a great time learning how to make personal pizzas with Jon Schroeder — using flour tortillas as the base and choosing our own toppings. While we enjoyed our creations, we played Bible Trivia (everyone against Pastor Claire), adding plenty of laughs to the night. It was a simple, hands‑on way to learn a life skill, share a meal, and grow in biblical knowledge. Thanks, Jon!

Celebrating 60 Years

Celebrating 60 Years

Washington Farm was a mission church planted by Aldersgate Methodist Church and chartered as Our Saviour Methodist Church on March 13, 1966.

On March 15 of this year, old and new friends gathered to give thanks for the generations of ministry, friendship, and faith that have shaped our community. We were especially grateful to welcome Pastor James Lewis, who joined us for the luncheon.

A special thank‑you to Bev Card, whose thoughtful planning and coordination made this celebration possible.

Grateful for Our Soup Supper Crews

Grateful for Our Soup Supper Crews

Once again, we marked the Lenten season with our simple soup suppers and evening devotionals. This year, we gathered for three suppers, each one made possible by generous cooks and the many hands who helped with setup and cleanup. Thank you to everyone who pitched in; it truly takes a village.

Support our Neighbors at Spring Hills

Support our Neighbors at Spring Hills

Five United Methodist churches in the Mt. Vernon area have joined together to share God’s love with the senior residents of Spring Hills Assisted Living, located just 1.5 miles from Washington Farm. This collaborative ministry offers a brief devotional, prayer, and hymn singing, followed by an engaging activity such as a craft or faith‑building experience, two Sundays each month from 1:30–2:30 PM.

If you have a heart for sharing God’s love with seniors in assisted living, please get in touch with Eileen Fraedrich for more information.

We’re excited to offer a free Summer Music Camp for rising 2nd–6th graders! Throughout the week, students will receive group instruction in guitar, piano, handbells, and drums—no musical experience needed. Each day also includes a Bible lesson, recreation time, snacks, and a joyful morning assembly with singing and special musical performances. All music classes are taught by licensed, experienced teachers who love helping kids discover their gifts.   Look out for registration after Easter.

Sunday, April 5, 2026

This Easter Sunday, we’ll celebrate the good news of Matthew 28:1–10 — the women at the tomb, the angel’s proclamation, and the first breathtaking moments of resurrection hope. Pastor Claire will explore “Resurrection & the Easter Bunny,” a joyful look at how symbols of new life — sacred and playful — point us toward God’s surprising, world‑shaking love.

Thank you to all who gave flowers to adorn our Easter Altar.
